Part of the Gay Barcelona Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Barcelona, Barcelona
Three-floor lesbian music bar in Gayxample, with The Bunker basement club.
Carita Bonita is one of the few dedicated lesbian bars in Barcelona, tucked on Carrer de Balmes in the Gaixample. It spreads across three small floors: a ground-level space built for drinks and conversation, a cozy middle room that doubles as a dance area, and a third floor where the dancing picks up on busier nights. The space is intimate and fills quickly once it gets going. The crowd is mostly women of all ages and nationalities, with friends and allies welcome, and the cocktails stay reasonably priced. In a neighborhood dominated by gay men's bars, Carita Bonita matters because it holds space for queer women, a women-centered room in the heart of the Gaixample, and one of the easier places in the city to land if you're looking for that crowd. Worth crossing town for if a sapphic night out is what you're after.
