Part of the Gay Columbus Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Columbus, Ohio
Columbus's gay Irish pub with karaoke, drag, and a big patio.
Cavan Irish Pub is, by its own and others' accounts, the only gay Irish pub in Columbus — an Irish-themed bar on South High Street in Merion Village with a dozen drafts on tap and a long queer lineage at the address, which previously held the gay bars Remo's and Woofs before becoming Cavan. The standout feature is the patio: large, well-built, and open year-round thanks to enclosed and heated sections that keep it usable through Ohio winters. Entertainment runs to karaoke on Wednesday and Friday nights and a drag show on Saturdays. The crowd skews neighborhood-regular — a mix of gay men, lesbians, and allies who treat it as a local rather than a destination.
