Part of the Gay Seattle Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Seattle, Washington
Gay-owned Wallingford dive bar and grill, a fixture since 1989.
Gay-owned dive bar on N. 45th Street in Wallingford, open since 1989 — making it Seattle's longest continuously owned-and-operated gay bar. Owner Floyd McIsaac opened it outside Capitol Hill's traditional gay corridor, and 37 years later, it's still a neighborhood fixture. The crowd is mixed these days — the LGBTQ+ core plus the broader Wallingford neighborhood — but the bar's identity hasn't shifted. Karaoke runs Wednesday and Sunday nights with Black Nail Productions, drag bingo takes over Thursdays, and DJs spin on weekends. The grill is real: $5 burger night on Tuesdays and prime rib dinners on Fridays. There's a pool table, darts, a patio, and daily happy hour from noon to 7 PM. It's small, it's no-frills, and everyone feels like a regular.
