San Antonio, Texas
18,000-sq-ft nightclub with three rooms and the Guillotine show hall.
Club 727 is an 18,000-square-foot gay nightclub on North Main Avenue in Tobin Hill, the heart of San Antonio's Pride Cultural Heritage District. The address has been gay nightlife for more than half a century — passing through the Blue Oyster Saloon, the Silver Dollar, and The Guillotine before becoming Club 727 — and the current club keeps the name alive in The Guillotine, its in-house show hall. Multiple rooms run at once: a main dance floor, a room built for Tejano and Latin sets, and a Blue Room for karaoke. Programming is genuinely all over the map, which is the point. The Guillotine hosts professional drag and Friday vogue nights alongside live Alliance Championship Wrestling cards, and the calendar makes room for goth-industrial 'Graveyard Shift' nights. Entry is 18-and-up with free parking, and the crowd skews multigenerational and heavily local — less a tourist stop than the room San Antonio's scene actually fills.
