Part of the Gay Portland (ME) Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Portland (ME), Maine
LGBTQ-friendly brunch cocktail bar on Congress Street in Portland.
Cocktail Mary is a queer craft cocktail bar that's been part of Portland's scene since 2019. After closing its Congress Street location in early 2025, it reopened in May 2026 on the third floor at 30 Market Street in the Old Port, an intimate room above the Cambodian restaurant Oun Lido's. It's cocktails-only now — a tight, well-built list of classics with a twist rather than a full kitchen, with food available as takeout from downstairs if you want it. The room is small by design, the kind of place built for a good drink and easy conversation rather than a crowd. Run by and for the community since day one, it draws a queer regulars base alongside Old Port visitors who came for the cocktails and stayed for the welcome. Check current hours before heading over, and plan on an evening room rather than the old brunch spot.
