Mexico City, State of Mexico
A quiet corner shop on Agustín Melgar, one of those Condesa side streets you only walk if you live there, and the first bookstore in Latin America to organize its shelves entirely around sex, gender, and sexuality. Open since 1998, founded by sexologists Rinna Riesenfeld and Luis Perelman, with sections that move from picture books about consent for kids, to academic monographs on trans studies, to thoughtful erotica and Kamasutra editions, plus a small selection of toys and aids in the back. Locals come for the curation — staff actually know what's on the shelves and will steer you to the right title — and for the workshops on everything from BDSM 101 to relationship therapy to sexual education for parents. Pair it with a long lunch on Av. México and you have a perfect Roma–Condesa afternoon.
