Elvira Cafe is a goth-leaning queer cocktail bar on Consell de Cent in the Gaixample, run by Believe Group, the company behind a string of LGBTQ+ venues across Barcelona. It bills itself as the city's "queer monster bar," and the room delivers: dark decor, low light, and a horror-camp sensibility that sets it apart from the brighter places a few doors down. Cocktails and shots are the foundation, with drag shows and themed events through the week. The crowd skews alternative and counterculture rather than mainstream-scene, so it's a good change of pace if you want somewhere with a bit more edge to start or stretch a night in the Gaixample. Doors open in the late afternoon, earlier than most of the bars around it.
