Part of the Gay Asbury Park Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Asbury Park, New Jersey
Asbury Park's neighborhood gay dive bar since 1999
Asbury Park’s self-proclaimed "gay Cheers" has been holding it down near the train tracks on 5th Avenue since 1999. Georgies is a no-frills dive bar with pool tables, TVs for game days, and programming every night of the week — Monday half-price drinks with free pool, Tuesday go-go boys, Wednesday karaoke, Thursday drag, Friday beer pong, and all-day karaoke on Saturday. Opened by George Lister and named for his late partner George Aten, the bar runs on regulars and community. Georgies founded the Asbury Park Toy Drive in its first year and still hosts fundraisers regularly. It draws a loyal Shore-area crowd that treats it more like a living room than a nightclub — the kind of place where the bartender already knows your order.
