Paris, Paris
LGBTQ+ nightclub since 1967 near Place de la République
Gibus Club is a nightclub near Place de la République, on Rue du Faubourg du Temple, that has been part of Paris nightlife since 1967. It made its name first as a rock venue, became a punk haven in the late 1970s, and in recent decades turned into one of the city's reference points for gay club nights, with recurring parties like Menergy, BBB, and Bitch Party drawing weekend crowds across its several rooms and a VIP lounge. A note for anyone planning a visit: after nearly six decades, the Gibus is set to close at the end of July 2026, and the space is expected to reopen later in the year under different, more mainstream ownership. Until then it still runs Friday through Sunday with late doors and a roster of house and pop DJs. For its final stretch it remains a large, high-energy room rather than an intimate one, worth catching while the gay-club era lasts.
