Part of the Gay Barcelona Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Barcelona, Barcelona
Barcelona's only LGBTQ+ beach bar on Mar Bella—open seasonally May to September.
Guingueta BeGay is Barcelona's only openly LGBTQ+ beach bar, planted on the sand at Mar Bella — the city's gay and clothing-optional beach in the Poblenou stretch of Sant Martí. It runs seasonally, roughly May through September, with a covered terrace, sun loungers for hire, and a hammock chill-out zone right by the water. The feel is exactly what a beach chiringuito should be: laid-back, summery, a mix of locals, expats, and travelers. The kitchen goes well beyond drinks — continental breakfast, gourmet sandwiches, salads, poke bowls, and raw plates like ceviche and tartare — and it holds a Biosphere sustainability certification. It hits peak capacity during August's Circuit Festival, when the international crowd descends, and sits about a 10-minute walk from the Poblenou metro on L4. For a daytime counterpart to the Gaixample's bars, this is the spot.
