Phoenix, Arizona
Latin gay dance club on McDowell with cumbia, reggaetón, and drag.
Karamba is Phoenix's Latin gay dance club, on East McDowell Road near the Coronado Historic District, with two indoor rooms and a large outdoor patio. The programming is built around Latin sounds, with DJs spinning cumbia, reggaeton, and tejano, anchored by recurring nights like Cumbia Tuesdays and Tejano Thursdays and drag shows from local queens. There's a full bar and pizza to keep the night going. It's one of the few spaces in the Valley dedicated to Latin LGBTQ+ nightlife, and the room reflects that: a largely Latino, local crowd that doesn't really get going until after midnight, with weekend dancing that runs late past last call. If you want Phoenix's English-language pop clubs, those are elsewhere; Karamba is where the Latin scene goes to dance, and it's worth the trip for that alone.
