Glasgow, Scotland
Basement LGBTQ+ bar on John Street with cheap drinks and karaoke
Katie's Bar says it opened in July 2013. It's an underground basement bar on John Street in the Merchant City, and it says it proudly serves the LGBTQ+ community. It bills itself as Glasgow's favourite LGBTQ+ venue, and the pitch is simple: good vibes, cheap drinks and a calendar of karaoke, live entertainment and DJs. The drinks deals are best early in the week. From Monday to Wednesday, Smirnoff, Gordon's, Morgan's and Famous Grouse are £3.95 a single or £5.50 a double. It opens at 3pm from Monday to Thursday, at noon on Fridays and Saturdays and at 2pm on Sundays. It closes at midnight, or 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. Members of Katie's Klub earn 10 points for every pound spent, and you can book a table for up to 20 people through the website.
