San Francisco, California
Gay dive bar with a pool table in the old Trax space on Haight
Mary's Bar on Haight is a gay dive bar on Haight Street in San Francisco, opened in September 2025 in the space that was Trax, the neighborhood's longtime queer bar, which closed that June. It calls itself "your local gayborhood bar," and the owners have described it as a "straight-friendly gay bar": the crowd is mixed, gay and straight, trans and cis, with plenty of neighbors stopping in after work. It keeps things simple: a pool table in the back, beer on tap, well drinks and a good martini, with a soundtrack that leans on pop icons like Kylie Minogue and Troye Sivan. It opens at noon on weekdays and 11 a.m. on weekends, an easy stop on a walk through the Haight.
