Seattle, Washington
Neighbours has been a Capitol Hill anchor since 1983, making it Seattle's oldest continuously operating LGBTQ+ club — a title it wears with the confidence of a venue that has genuinely earned it. The Canadian spelling in the name is a nod to its Vancouver origins, and the club has carried that spirit of cross-border queer community-building for over four decades. It has survived arson attacks, a pandemic closure, and countless shifts in the neighborhood around it, each time reopening with the dance floor intact and the crowd ready. The two-level space on Broadway packs in a massive dance floor, four bars, a balcony, and a private mezzanine available for events — all with a sound and lighting setup built to keep you moving from Thursday through Sunday. Drag has always been central to what Neighbours does, with local legends and touring performers sharing the stage throughout the week. The crowd is genuinely mixed — queer regulars, allies, visitors who wandered in for the first time — drawn together by the reliable pull of a good night out. The long-running Sunday Kandela party, in particular, has built a following of its own that keeps the last night of the weekend feeling like the best one.
