Queer erotic toy studio in Kreuzberg, handcrafting body-safe toys since 1996
Playstixx is a queer erotic shop and toy manufactory in Kreuzberg, run by sculptor Stefanie Dörr, who has been among Berlin's pioneers of artist-made sex toys since the early 1990s. The core line is handcrafted vibrators and dildos made from hypoallergenic, BPA- and phthalate-free premium silicone, produced in small series (many of them one-offs) alongside strap-ons in vegan and leather options, lubricants, massage candles, and books. Products have carried the Playstixx name since 1996. Rooted in Berlin's lesbian and queer community for nearly three decades, the shop is built around women and everyone who loves them, with consultation treated as the heart of the experience rather than an afterthought. As of August 2025 it moved from its open Heimstrasse storefront to appointment-only consultations and an online shop at playstixxshop.de, with the in-person sessions still held in Kreuzberg.
