Nonprofit BDSM and fetish club run by volunteers in Mariendorf since 1989
Quälgeist is a nonprofit BDSM and fetish club operating since 1989, run entirely by volunteers as a registered association (e.V.). The Mariendorf play space is fitted with crosses, slings, cages, and bondage rigs, hosting a packed calendar of S&M nights, bondage workshops, impact play events, and multi-day residential weekends capped at 50 participants. The crowd is primarily gay men, with dedicated FLINTA* events for women, non-binary, and trans attendees. Consent and safety education are built into every event format, not just stated values. Originally based on Mehringdamm in Kreuzberg, the club relocated to Mariendorf for more space — a deliberate trip by U-Bahn that keeps the crowd intentional.
