Gay dive bar in Covington's Mainstrasse Village, just across from Cincinnati
Rosie's Tavern sits across the river from Cincinnati in Covington's Mainstrasse Village, in a building that has operated as a tavern since 1896. It's a gay dive in the truest sense, with historic pressed-tin ceilings, exposed brick, pool tables, a digital jukebox, and an outdoor picnic area that opens up in the warmer months. The intersection out front is marked by Covington's permanent rainbow crosswalks, and the bar took the city's inaugural Authenti-CITY award in 2024. The crowd is a genuine mix of gay and straight regulars there for cheap drinks and an unpretentious night. Weekly karaoke with DJ Julie J on Thursdays and Sundays is the standing draw, with Monday well-drink specials keeping it one of the most affordable rooms on either side of the river. If you want neighborhood-bar warmth over nightclub polish, this is it.
