Part of the Gay Cincinnati Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Cincinnati, Ohio
Gay-owned Newport dive since 1999 — free pool, darts, dog-friendly patio.
Crazy Fox Saloon has been gay-owned since 1999, when partners Terry Bond Jr. and Carl Fox opened it in an 1880s building at 9th and Washington in Newport, Kentucky — just across the river from Cincinnati. The name is a mashup of their surnames, and their motto, "A Friendly Mix of Humanity," captures the bar's mixed, multigenerational crowd. This is a dive bar in the best sense: free pool table, dart boards, pinball, a jukebox heavy on late '70s and '80s pop, and a dog-friendly smoking patio. Sunday Bloody Marys come built as a full meal with garnish trays. No cover, no DJ booth — just a neighborhood bar where the regulars know your name and a staff member nicknamed Big Mama keeps the place running.
