Part of the Gay Saugatuck Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Saugatuck, Michigan
Saugatuck's cash-only dive bar in a 100-year-old building.
Saugatuck's beloved dive bar and a local landmark for over 30 years. Housed in a 100+ year-old building on Butler Street (look for the original barbershop tile floors when you walk in), the Sand Bar is the kind of place where everyone is welcome, the drinks are cheap, the jukebox leans classic rock and blues, and nobody's trying too hard. Pool table, Keno, cash only, and bartenders with personality to spare. Live music on weekends — including a famous Sunday blues jam the first Sunday of each month — keeps the energy up without pretense. Open 10 AM to 2 AM daily, which means it's equally good for a midday beer or a last-call nightcap after everything else shuts down.
