Honolulu, Hawaii
Hawaii's anchor gay nightclub in Chinatown, across from Hawaii Theatre
Hawaii's anchor gay nightclub, tucked into Chinatown across from the Hawaii Theatre. Co-founded in 2015 by local entertainment personality Lanai Tabura and fashion designer Traver Rains (co-founder of label Heatherette), Scarlet operates Friday and Saturday nights only, 8 PM to 2 AM, with a $20 cover. The draw is the World Famous Pineapple Stage — a dedicated drag performance area that pulls visitors from outside Hawaii. Shows hit at 9 PM both nights, followed by dancing across two floors. The dollhouse-themed interior features provocative wall photography and a sequined surfing mannequin on stage. Not a casual drop-in bar — Scarlet is a destination. Table reservations are available, and there's a no-flip-flops dress code.
