A seasonal gay nightclub and cocktail bar in Fire Island Pines, and the place the harbor's nightlife migrates to once the tea dances wind down. Sip·n·Twirl was rebuilt after a 2011 fire that destroyed both it and the Pavilion next door; today it runs a full bar, a dance floor with its own sound and video rig, and an open-air TWIRLdeck looking out over the harbor. It's open nightly through the spring-to-fall season, typically from early evening into the early-morning hours. Tea dances are a signature, but the late-night sets are the draw. DJs and the occasional celebrity guest take over after the Pavilion's High Tea empties out. The crowd is predominantly gay men, a mix of Pines homeowners and weekenders in from the city, and it swells around the marquee summer weekends like Invasion of the Pines on July 4 and the Pines Party in August. If you're spending a night in the Pines, this is usually where it ends.
