Fire Island, New York
Cherry Grove's storied dance club at the Cherry Grove Beach Hotel.
Inside the Cherry Grove Beach Hotel, the Ice Palace is Cherry Grove's main dance club and one of the longest continuously running LGBTQ+ nightclubs in the world. The room took its current name in 1970, borrowed from an F. Scott Fitzgerald story, and after recent upgrades it operates under promoter Daniel Nardicio, who has run its entertainment for several seasons. Open seasonally from spring through fall, it builds from quieter early-season weekends to a packed summer calendar of themed parties, drag, and headliner DJs. It's the heart of Cherry Grove nightlife, a short walk from both the bay and the ocean beach, and the Grove's counterpart to the Pines' Pavilion: where the Pines does tea dances, the Grove dances at the Ice Palace.
