Boise's LGBTQ+ community center with programs, events, and resources
The Community Center (TCC) has been Boise's LGBTQ+ hub since 1983, and its rainbow-painted facade on North Orchard Street is a landmark in its own right, easy to spot heading toward Fairview. Inside, it's part resource center and part gathering place: a lending library of more than 3,700 LGBTQ+ titles, a small museum of local queer history, a food pantry for community members facing food insecurity, and meeting space that the center shares with Liberating Spirit Metropolitan Community Church. The programming is what keeps it busy. Regular groups include a youth alliance, a transgender support group, a book club, and a polyamory group, and the center hosts Boise's PFLAG chapter and the local drag court. For an LGBTQ+ traveler passing through Idaho's capital, it's the best single place to take the temperature of the community and find out what's happening while you're in town, less a nightlife stop than the front door to queer Boise.
