Part of the Gay Las Vegas Guide — bars, events & things to do.

Las Vegas, Nevada
Locally gay-owned 24-hour bar off West Sahara with karaoke and a patio.
The Phoenix is a gay-owned bar and lounge on West Sahara, off-Strip on the city's west side and open 24 hours. The 4,800-square-foot room — formerly the Escape Lounge — is built for hanging around: pool tables, darts, a couple of patios, a full kitchen, and a giant projector wall wired with gaming consoles. Programming leans social rather than spectacle — karaoke on Thursdays and Sundays, drag nights, and the easy, regulars-driven energy of a neighborhood lounge. It's collected Best Gay Bar honors from the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Best LGBTQ Bar from Las Vegas Weekly, but it stays a local's lounge, not a megaclub: the 24-hour license means there's almost always someone around, whatever the hour. For west-side locals it's the anchor that saves a drive out to the Fruit Loop.
