Part of the Gay New Orleans Guide — bars, events & things to do.

New Orleans, Louisiana
Ninety-minute French Quarter tour of queer history and gay ghost lore.
Walking With The Gay Ghosts of New Orleans is a 90-minute guided walking tour through the French Quarter that bills itself as "half queer history, half good ol' gay smut." The tour departs from Cafe Lafitte in Exile — the oldest continuously operating gay bar in the US — and threads through shadowy streets and courtyards while covering Tennessee Williams, Truman Capote, gay pirates, and lesbian turf wars. Drinks in hand, bar stops included. The tour runs multiple dates year-round, with expanded scheduling around Southern Decadence and NOLA Pride. Tickets are $30-33 via Eventbrite. SNL's Bowen Yang took the tour during a Halloween trip and posted about it — a sign of the crossover appeal beyond the usual ghost-tour crowd.
