Wave — sold under the name Wave #ModaÉtica — is a small-batch men's swimwear and resort-wear label designed and produced in Puerto Vallarta. Founded in 2017 by a local creative duo, it works on a slow-fashion model: limited-run trunks, board shorts, shirts, and lightweight resort pieces in bold prints, cut and sewn in the brand's own workshop rather than ordered in bulk. The brand runs a walk-in boutique on Francisca Rodríguez in the Zona Romántica, open weekday afternoons, where you can try pieces on in person; it also turns up seasonally at the Olas Altas Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. For travelers who want a piece of Vallarta beachwear that isn't on every other body at the beach club, it's a more personal alternative to the strip's bigger swim shops.
