Saugatuck, Michigan
The most luxurious stay in Saugatuck, and arguably the most beautifully designed small inn in the Midwest. Originally built in 1937 as the Colonial Revival home of former Saugatuck mayor Frank Wicks, it became the town's first bed-and-breakfast in 1981. After a celebrated era under Silver Palate Cookbook co-author Julee Rosso (who made it a farm-to-table culinary destination featured in Travel + Leisure and The New York Times), the inn entered its current chapter in 2021 under Shea Soucie and Martin Horner of Chicago's Soucie Horner Design Collective. The result is eleven individually designed rooms and suites that are nothing short of extraordinary: Vispring mattresses from The Luxury Bed Collection, Matouk linens, Waterworks marble bathrooms, hand-embroidered SHIIR rugs, cashmere ALT for Living throws, antique furnishings, and original art in every room.
