Saugatuck, Michigan
1904 Victorian inn on Butler Street, lovingly restored in 2017.
A beautifully restored 1904 Victorian that's been through several lives — originally built as a Sears and Roebuck catalogue home for the Koenig Hardware Store owners (the second-largest version available, original cost $1,800), it later served as an art gallery for nearly two decades (Highbanks Gallery), then became the Saugatuck Victorian Inn before its current identity as The Inn of Saugatuck in 2017. Under new management and undergoing thoughtful updates, the inn preserves its original oak woodwork, intricate Victorian trim, and period elegance while adding modern comforts — fresh paint, new carpeting, luxury bedding, digital locks, and high-speed WiFi. Multiple guest rooms are available, each with private bath and fireplace, ranging from cozy queen rooms (from $135/night) to the spacious master suite with king bed and private sitting room (from $275/night). A full breakfast featuring fresh local produce is served daily.
