Kansas City, Missouri
Queer sports pub and community hub on Broadway Blvd in Midtown KC
Woody's KC is a Midtown sports pub that doubles as one of the city's most versatile queer community hubs, on Broadway alongside Hamburger Mary's. By day it's Chiefs and Royals watch parties, burgers and bar food, and RuPaul's Drag Race viewing nights; the calendar is what sets it apart. Woody's hosts a rotation of specific subcommunity nights you won't find clustered anywhere else in town: 'Bear Bust,' billed as the Midwest's longest-running bear party, on first Saturdays; 'LIPS' sapphic nights on second Fridays; 'Body Euphoria' trans showcases on fourth Fridays; and 'UNDERDOGS' pup and leather events on fourth Saturdays. There's an outdoor patio and the landmark rainbow Pride stairs installed in 2019. If you're trying to find your particular corner of the community in Kansas City, this is the bar most likely to have a night built for it.
