Fresh Meat Festival 2026, San Francisco's beloved LGBTQ+ celebration of transgender and queer performance, returns for its 25th anniversary across three nights, Friday June 19, Saturday June 20, and Sunday June 21, 2026. The Friday and Saturday shows start at 8:00 PM, with a more leisurely Sunday matinee at 3:00 PM. All three take over Z Space at 450 Florida Street in the Mission, the kind of warm, high-ceilinged room that has hosted some of the city's most adventurous work for years. This is the nation's premier transgender and queer performance festival, blending dance, theater, music, and multimedia into one electric program. The silver-anniversary lineup is stacked, with Sean Dorsey Dance, a Filipinx drag supergroup, the New Voices Bay Area Transgender chorus, Zuzu Beloved, and Shawna Virago all sharing the stage. Tickets run on a sliding scale through Ovation, so no one gets priced out. KN95 masks are provided and required, every show includes ASL interpretation, and red-carpet attire is encouraged, with a pre-show photo booth ready for your close-up. Getting there is easy. Z Space sits a short walk from 16th Street BART, or you can hop the 22 Fillmore or 33 Muni bus lines, all tappable with your Clipper card. Late-June evenings in the Mission can swing from sunny to socked-in once Karl the fog rolls over the hills, so pack a layer even if the afternoon felt warm. One local tip, the Sunday matinee is the most relaxed and family-friendly of the three, a lovely choice if you want the celebration without the late-night buzz. Show up early, soak in the lobby energy, and enjoy.
