Neighborhoods·Fort Lauderdale Gay Guide

What is the Gay Neighborhood in Fort Lauderdale?

Wilton Manors is the LGBTQ+ epicenter of the Fort Lauderdale metro area. Technically an independent city bordering Fort Lauderdale to the north, Wilton Manors has the second-highest concentration of same-sex couples per capita in the country (after Provincetown, Massachusetts) and has historically had an LGBTQ+ majority on its city commission.

Wilton Drive ("The Drive")

The heart of Wilton Manors is Wilton Drive, a walkable commercial strip packed with 40+ LGBTQ+-owned and LGBTQ+-friendly businesses. This is where you'll find the area's best gay bars, drag venues, restaurants, and boutiques all within a few blocks. Major spots on The Drive include Georgie's Alibi Monkey Bar (an anchor since 1997), Hunters Nightclub (a 30+ year staple), and Rosie's Bar & Grill.

Equality Park

The Pride Center at Equality Park is Broward County's LGBTQ+ community center, located in Wilton Manors. It serves as the hub for community services, events, and programming year-round.

Fort Lauderdale Beach

Sebastian Street Beach (near Sebastian Street and A1A) is the area's popular gay beach. The Victoria Park neighborhood, adjacent to Wilton Manors, is also a residential area popular with LGBTQ+ residents.
