Expansive Reguliersdwarsstraat gay dance bar with drag and house DJs
BLEND XL is the larger, dance-focused half of the Blend pair on Reguliersdwarsstraat, opened in 2021 a few doors from its older sibling Bar Blend. Where Bar Blend stays a social neighborhood bar, BLEND XL is built to move: two bars, a proper dance floor, street-art-styled walls, and a sound and lighting rig to match, running rotating DJ sets of house and Top 40. The signature night is After Work Fridays, with drag queens and dancers kicking the weekend off early, and during the Amsterdam Dance Event the room turns over to dedicated tech-house programming. A street-level terrace puts you right on the gay strip. It's a strong middle-of-the-night anchor on a Reguliers crawl — more energy than the street's café-bars, less of a full-club commitment than NYX around the corner.
