Part of the Gay Palm Springs Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Palm Springs, California
Gay men's resort with 24/7 saltwater pool and complimentary breakfast
Descanso is a clothing-optional gay men's resort on Camino Monte Vista, recently refurbished with king beds in every room, balcony and poolside suites, and a fully fenced property for privacy. The center of the place is a heated saltwater pool and spa kept warm around the clock, ringed by a mist-cooling system, a communal fire pit, a garden shower, and views of the San Jacinto mountains. It runs more polished than party: daily continental breakfast and a complimentary poolside lunch come with the stay, there's a cantina stocked with snacks and drinks, and weekend "Wine O'Clock" happy hours give the social calendar a gentle rhythm. The resort has pulled real recognition for it, including a Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Best of the Best award ranking it #1 in California in 2023. Complimentary bicycles and EV chargers are on hand for guests who want to explore beyond the gates.
