San Francisco, California
Castro adult and fetish shop, a neighborhood fixture since the '70s.
A Castro adult shop named after the 1979 ABBA song and in business since that same year, which makes it one of the neighborhood's longest-running stores of any kind. It carries adult toys, fetish and leather gear, and a deep rack of erotic greeting cards that regulars come back for. After 17 years at its 18th Street address, it moved a short walk away to 450 Castro Street in early 2025, into the former Body storefront, under proprietor Vanessa Ruamsook. The shop sits in the heart of the Castro — San Francisco's historic gay district and one of the first openly LGBTQ+ neighborhoods in the country — so browsing here comes with the foot traffic and people-watching of the strip right outside the door.
