Queer tiki bar in Bushwick with tropical cocktails, a patio, and a laid-back Brooklyn crowd
Queer tiki bar on Irving Avenue in Bushwick, run as a collective by the longtime staff who took over the former Dromedary and "came out" with it in 2024. The tropical-drink format stayed — mai tais and rum cocktails under the umbrellas — but the space is now an openly queer neighborhood hangout rather than a novelty stop. It's laid-back and local, the kind of place to settle in on the patio rather than a dance-floor night out. Programming leans community-minded, anchored by a long-running Sunday drag brunch that's among Brooklyn's most established, with rotating trivia, karaoke, and themed events through the rest of the week. A good fit if you want Bushwick's queer scene at a slower, friendlier register.
