New York City, New York
LGBTQ+-owned Hell's Kitchen bar in the former POSH space since 2023.
FLEX is a queer-owned gay bar on West 51st Street in Hell's Kitchen, opened in June 2023 by James Healy and Jason Wade Mann in the space that once held POSH, one of the neighborhood's original gay landmarks. The bar leans into community over exclusivity and is explicitly welcoming to transgender patrons in a corridor where that isn't always a given. The week runs on happy hours, late-night DJ sets, and a busy Sunday Funday, behind a pride-flagged storefront that pulls in a mix of Hell's Kitchen regulars and theater-district visitors. Sitting steps from Broadway, it's an easy first or last stop on a night out: close enough to the theaters to catch the post-show crowd, casual enough to settle in for a few rounds.
