New York City, New York
Brooklyn's enduring lesbian dive bar in Park Slope, open since 2000.
Ginger's is an Irish dive bar and one of Brooklyn's last dedicated lesbian bars, open on Park Slope's 5th Avenue since St. Patrick's Day 2000. Cash-only, with a pool table in the back room, a jukebox, and an ivy-covered patio with string lights for warmer months. The crowd skews lesbian and bi but draws gay men and allies from across all five boroughs. Weekly programming runs deep: karaoke Wednesdays with KJ LaLa, Club Mona dance nights the first Thursday of each month, Drag Race viewing parties, and Haus of Cream drag shows on final Fridays. The bar survived a 19-month COVID closure thanks to a $24K GoFundMe and celebrated its 25th anniversary in March 2025 with a three-day festival of live Irish music, DJs, and guest performers.
