Part of the Gay New York City Guide — bars, events & things to do.
New York City, New York
Upscale gay cocktail lounge with marble-top bar in Hell's Kitchen.
It's Him is a cocktail-led gay bar and social club on 10th Avenue in Hell's Kitchen, queer-owned and built around its drinks rather than a dance floor. The program leans on inventive, locally inspired cocktails served from a marble-top bar, in a room designed to stay intimate enough for actual conversation. The 'social club' framing is real: there's a membership for regulars, and Mondays run members-only before the bar opens to everyone Tuesday through Sunday. It's the more grown-up, sit-and-talk end of the Hell's Kitchen scene, a place to start the night over a good drink rather than close it out on a dance floor, and an easy counterpoint to the louder, cruisier rooms a few blocks over.
