Austin, Texas
Jo's newest outpost at Symphony Square with beer, wine, and espresso
Jo's Symphony Square is the newest Austin location, opened in 2024 inside The Waller residential building near Waterloo Park. The interior was designed by Michael Hsu — custom communal tables, leather seating, terrazzo tile, and copper accents make it the most polished of the three Jo's spaces. In addition to the usual espresso drinks and La Colombe-roasted coffee, this location serves beer, wine, and frose. Jo's was founded in 1999 by Liz Lambert — an openly lesbian hotelier who transformed South Congress Avenue — and her brother Lou, naming it after their mother. The brand has grown to 11 locations across Texas and Tennessee, but the Austin shops remain the home base.
