Atlanta, Georgia
Historic Black gay lounge and after-hours club on the Westside.
Marquette is a Black gay lounge and after-hours club on Atlanta's Westside, near Vine City off Joseph E. Boone Boulevard. The Marquette Social Club traces back to 1972, and the spot has long been a gathering place for the city's Black LGBTQ+ nightlife. The vibe is late-night and music-driven, with multiple rooms, a hookah lounge, and a kitchen known for its wings. Programming runs to themed nights — including shows featuring trans performers — and the crowd peaks well after midnight on weekends, when many of the city's other bars are winding down. Family-operated and unpretentious, Marquette draws a predominantly Black queer crowd and regulars who come for the after-hours energy rather than a polished cocktail-bar experience. Cover and door policies vary by night, so check the venue's social channels before heading out.
