Free outdoor gym in Lummus Park, three blocks from the 12th Street Gay Beach.
Muscle Beach South Beach is a free, public outdoor gym inside Lummus Park at 9th Street and Ocean Drive, operated by the City of Miami Beach Parks & Recreation. The 2018 renovation added over 30 workout stations — barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, pull-up bars, rings, dip bars, battle ropes, and calisthenics rigs. No machines. Open daily 7:30 AM to sunset, no membership required. The gym sits three blocks south of the 12th Street Gay Beach, one of the most prominent gay beaches in the US. Both share the same Lummus Park strip — the city installed a permanent rainbow paver walkway at 12th Street in 2026. The body-conscious crowd at Muscle Beach overlaps naturally with the gay beach scene.
