Part of the Gay Key West Guide — bars, events & things to do.
Key West, Florida
A gay men's guesthouse above Bourbon Street Pub on Duval.
New Orleans House is a men-only gay resort sitting directly above the Bourbon Street Pub on Duval Street, which puts guests one staircase from the center of Key West's gay nightlife. The clothing-optional area out back has a pool, a large hot tub, and the Garden Bar, a longtime favorite of gay locals that stays open into the early morning. Continental breakfast is served on a balcony overlooking Duval, and stays include access to the drag shows at the adjacent 801 Bourbon Bar. Owner Joey Schroeder bought the building in 2001 and turned the vacant second floor into the guesthouse, building it into the larger complex of bars and entertainment that defines this block. The trade-off is plain: you're staying on top of one of the loudest, busiest corners on the island, which is the entire appeal for the guests who book it and the wrong choice for anyone after quiet.
