SoMa drag cabaret and nightclub in a former bathhouse.
OASIS is a drag cabaret and nightclub in SoMa at 11th and Folsom, built inside a former bathhouse and opened in 2015 by drag legend Heklina alongside D'Arcy Drollinger, Geoff Benjamin, and Jason Beebout — with Drollinger, San Francisco's first Drag Laureate, now running it solo. At roughly 8,000 square feet it's one of the few venues in the country purpose-built for drag at theatrical scale, with a main stage that mounts full-length parody musicals and revues, a separate dance floor, and a rooftop bar. Over a decade it became the institutional home of San Francisco drag, the place touring and local queens treat as a proper theater rather than a back room. In December 2025 a multimillion-dollar gift from philanthropists Mary and Mark Stevens allowed the nonprofit Oasis Arts to move toward buying the building outright, securing the venue's future after years of Drollinger covering the shortfalls himself. As part of that reset, Oasis closed in early 2026 for roof repairs and a building overhaul, with plans to reopen later in the year, so it's worth checking current status before a visit. When it's running, it's the anchor of the city's drag calendar and worth planning a night around.
