Toronto, Ontario
Canada's longtime queer retailer — swimwear, gear, and Pride.
Out On The Street is one of Canada's longest-running queer retailers, opened in 1991 by Ian Kelly and a fixture of the Church-Wellesley Village ever since. In spring 2026 it moved from its longtime three-floor home at 551 Church Street to a brighter single-level store a few doors south at 504 Church, next to Crews & Tangos, a change made largely for accessibility, since the old heritage building's staircases kept some customers from ever reaching the upper floors. The selection runs to swimwear, underwear, fetish and leather gear, and Pride merchandise, and the shop is a primary local carrier for a number of North American and European brands that are hard to find elsewhere in the city. It sells both in-store and ships worldwide. For a visitor, it's the Village's main destination for this kind of shopping, and its new spot puts it right on the neighborhood's busiest pedestrian block.
