Toronto, Ontario
Church Street pool-and-games bar with trivia and bingo.
Pegasus, open since 1993, is one of the oldest bars in the Church-Wellesley Village and its main spot for social gaming. The second-floor room is built around four pool tables, with shuffleboard, pinball, electronic darts, and Buzztime trivia filling in the rest, less a dance bar than a place to actually do something while you drink. On Mondays it hosts the Village Pool League, where teams from bars across the neighborhood face off at 8-ball. The weekly calendar leans into hosted events: drag bingo, LGBTQ+ stand-up and open-mic comedy, and trivia nights. There's no kitchen, but the staff are happy for you to bring in food from the Village's many nearby restaurants. The crowd is mixed and unpretentious, and the whole place is geared toward a laid-back, activity-based night rather than a loud one, a good pick if you want a queer bar where conversation and a game come before the dance floor.
