Reimagined Hell's Kitchen gay bar with drag, go-go dancers, patio, and a Splash disco ball
The Ritz is a two-level gay bar and dance club on Restaurant Row in Hell's Kitchen, reopened in May 2025 after a full renovation under new LGBTQ+ ownership — regular-turned-owner Eric Hanninen bought the four-story building outright and gave the place a top-to-bottom facelift. The ground floor runs happy hour from 4 PM with cheap rails before DJs take over nightly, while the upstairs bar and expanded stage host drag shows and go-go dancers. There are two patios, one out back and one facing the street, for a breather from the dance floor. The space carries a piece of NYC gay history: a disco ball salvaged from Splash, the Chelsea club that closed in 2013. The crowd leans gay men but pulls a mix of neighborhood locals and Broadway-adjacent tourists, and the energy builds from a chill happy hour to a packed late-night room. It's open daily until 4 AM and sits in easy walking distance of the rest of the Hell's Kitchen strip, which makes it a reliable first or last stop on a night out in the neighborhood.
