Christopher St queer dive with bear nights, rope bondage events, drag shows, and karaoke
Rockbar is a queer dive bar on Christopher Street in the West Village with a rock-and-roll streak, running a packed weekly calendar that spans Rock N Roll Karaoke, drag shows, bear-focused nights like Bears Night Out on Saturdays, and kink-friendly programming including a Tuesday rope bondage event. The Sunday Beer Blast and Hot Dog Sundays keep things low-cost, daily happy hour pours come two-for-one, and drinks are strong and reasonably priced for the neighborhood. The crowd skews toward bears and masculine-identified guys, but the room genuinely welcomes everyone — leather men, drag queens, jocks, and whoever else wanders off Christopher Street. There's usually something on every night of the week, and it sits a block from Stonewall without any of the tourist-bar energy: this is the block's local, not its landmark. Come for an unfussy beer and a loud night rather than a polished cocktail program.
