Gay bar on Reguliersdwarsstraat with go-go boys and Latin dance nights
One of the biggest gay bars on Reguliersdwarsstraat, Amsterdam's main queer street. SOHO opened in 1999, closed briefly in 2010 when the original owner's company collapsed, and reopened in 2011. The interior is English pub-style — wood panelling, large mirrors — spread across two floors with a dance floor and cocktail bar upstairs. The weekly calendar runs Wednesday through Sunday: themed nights include Perra (a Latin night with live performances on Sundays), go-go boys and DJs on Thursdays, and DJ-driven dance nights on Fridays and Saturdays. Happy hour is 6 to 8pm. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The multi-level layout and named party nights give it a club feel that the smaller cafe-style neighbors on the street can't match.
