San Francisco, California
Historic 1922 Castro movie palace, reopened in 2026 for film and concerts.
An iconic 1922 movie palace in the heart of the Castro, designed by Timothy Pflueger and a designated San Francisco landmark with deep ties to the LGBTQ+ community. After a two-year, $41 million restoration, it reopened in February 2026 under Another Planet Entertainment with a new era of programming that spans classic film, live music and concerts, comedy, drag, and community events. It remains a longtime host of Frameline, the world's longest-running LGBTQ+ film festival.
