Phoenix, Arizona
Melrose show lounge with named drag productions and karaoke nights.
The show lounge of the Melrose strip, on 7th Avenue since 2009 (originally La Roca). Where Charlie's is the country bar and Stacy's is the cathedral conversion, The Rock is built for performance: a dedicated showroom separate from the main bar hosts named drag productions, comedy, and karaoke, with resident queens like Barbra Seville, Lady Christian, and Espressa Grande on the calendar. Out back there's a large patio with arcade games and dart boards, giving the place a casual second mode between shows. It has pulled Phoenix New Times honors for both its drag and its karaoke over the years, and it remains the strip's go-to for a proper sit-down show rather than a dance floor.
